Betül Karakeçi was born on November 25, 1972, in Istanbul, Turkey. She completed her primary, middle, and high school education in Bandırma, Balıkesir. In 1995, she graduated from Bursa Uludağ University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, with a degree in Turkish Language and Literature.
She began her career as a Turkish language and literature teacher in Bursa and continued teaching in private schools and tutoring centers. Currently, she works as a teacher at Maltepe Girls’ Anatolian Imam Hatip High School.
Betül Karakeçi is married and the mother of one child. Her first poetry collection, The Black Box in My Soul, was published in 2020 under the pen name B.N. Kara.
