Nursel Ata

NURSEL ATA

Born in 1977 in Malazgirt, Muş, Nursel Ata currently resides in Mersin, Türkiye. She graduated from Yüzüncü Yıl University with a degree in Preschool Teaching, and from Atatürk University with degrees in Radio & Television Broadcasting and Advertising. She also earned two master’s degrees from Mersin University—one in Educational Administration, Planning, and Supervision, and the other in Preschool Education. She is presently serving as a principal at a public school.

Ata has designed and led numerous projects on local, national, and international platforms, spanning Europe, Africa, and Asia. Through academic, artistic, and social responsibility initiatives, she has conducted and participated in diverse trainings—particularly focusing on early childhood education and support for disadvantaged individuals. In 2018, she was honored with the “Awareness and Social Responsibility Award of the Year” by the Future in Education Association (Gelecek Eğitimde Derneği).

Driven by a sense of duty, she carries out social responsibility projects in various parts of the world. In Africa, she actively works on drilling water wells, facilitating cataract surgeries, and supporting the education of disadvantaged children. She donates all proceeds from her books to the education of such children. Her greatest dream is to establish “Albino Life Villages” in Niger and Tanzania, and she continues to raise awareness on this cause both nationally and internationally.

In addition to her academic studies on early childhood and preschool education, Ata has published numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. A poet since childhood, she has published three poetry collections: “Bekleyen”, “Ebabil’in Erbanesi”, and “Islık ve Çığlık.”
